Pico
Neighborhood Association is working to improve your mobility within
Santa Monica. The City of Santa Monica’s “Know
Before You Go” program provides weekly updates of City and permitted
utility projects within the City’s streets, sidewalks, parks, and other
public space that are expected to impact the public for more than one day.
A
newly elected PNA Board has ushered in a new era of community engagement in
the Pico Neighborhood. Many in the community are excited about the increased
level of activism that has brought important improvements to the quality of
life in the Pico Neighborhood. "We are focused on providing a family-centered
approach to leadership in our community," stated newly elected PNA Board
member Maria Loya.
The newly elected PNA Board has prioritized issues vital to supporting the working
class families that make up the majority of Pico Neighborhood residents. More

Neighborhood Stuff!
The
U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by
the Constitution to take place every 10 years.
The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal
funds each year for things like:
Hospitals
Job training centers
Schools
Senior centers
Bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects
Emergency services
The data collected by the census also help determine the number of seats your
state has in the U.S. House of Representatives.
