Pico Neighborhood Association Board of Directors Meeting

Unexcused Absent: Clyde S, Rosalina C, George G, Ric R  
Guest: Lucy Dyke, SM Transportation Dept
No Quorum established. Discussion and report items followed3 Financial: $6,208.39 Bal.One new membership via Website. Paid $20.00 to State for Corp. report in 2001.
Website stats: March 159 visitors, 110 unique date 3/1 to 3/16.. 10 visits a day. Links from the Mirror & Gazette help us get more vistors. Paid up on fees.    George George has missed  4 meetings without notifying the Board /letter to George regarding will be sent to him &.
4. City Grant received. In that grant there is $500 to sponsor School Clubs for activity in the PN.
5. Discussion: response to gun fire incidents and recommendations. Peter and Don will address the Commission on Older Americans to support LaVerne's item.
8. Assembly will be June 29th. Agenda for the day: Debate on VERITAS, PN business, neighborhood issues, lunch. The following Bd members  need to run for the Board: Rosalina/Tarik/George/Joe B. Guest: Lucy Dyke (not an Agenda Item) came to explain new configuration of Pico/Cloverfield corner. Opinions and assessment suggestions made. Other aspects of neighborhood traffic flow discussed.

3. No statement from Bank, however $6200 is approx balance. $1,000.00 committed to
assembly to date. 2 new members, web site no stats/same 9 or 10 visits per day.
4. Newsletter - 800 mailed (residential & business), printed 1000 fliers, Approx Costs:
newsletter $600.00, 1000 flyers $100, Advertising on line (Gazette & Mirror) @ $50.00 each.
5. Annual and agenda discussion. Rev. Ron Williams will deliver the invocation/Welcome.
Peter to give year wrap up. Joe W to be moderator of College format debate. Ballot &
election discussion. Suggestion: Put survey on back of ballot & get opinions from members.
Info booths: SMPD, Graffiti Team, Green Team, Red Cross, SM History Museum, SM
Conservancy, PIO invited. Rented Podium & Microphone System. Food discussion. Working
committee will meet in 2 weeks to finalize Assembly, June 26th @ 7:00 pm in Virginia
Ave Park.
6. NC: Polling on NC web site now available. Jeff Green has met with some in SM about
clean drinking water initiative to put on ballot maybe next year.

The PNA Announces it's 2nd Annual Scholarship Essay contest. Through hard work, community support, and accessibility to resources we believe that all children can accomplish goals and continue on to higher education.

The PNA will reward one graduating high school senior $500 for the furtherance of their studies. more


Pico Neighborhood Association is working to improve your mobility within Santa Monica. The City of Santa Monica’s “Know Before You Go” program provides weekly updates of City and permitted utility projects within the City’s streets, sidewalks, parks, and other public space that are expected to impact the public for more than one day.
