The Virginia Ave Park Expansion Plan that was approved by the City Council, not six months ago, has been changed.

The pool, which the PNA Board did not support, has been eliminated. A yet to be defined water fountain type feature will be built in its stead.

The "pavilion" that was to be the next incarnation of the PAL gym will see modification. Originally seen as a simple shade area, the pavilion had grown to accommodate food vendors and performances. Structural problems and cost were cited as reasons for the redesign. A new plan for the feature was not yet prepared. The PNA Board objected to the grand design of the pavilion.

Left untouched was the large amount of greenspace devoted to the Farmer's Market. This aspect of the market is still of concern to the PNA.

The Virginia Ave Park Advisory Board is having problems with the proposed mural and reports state that meetings with the artists will ensue.
