Neighborhood Photo Shoot
Last
May PNA asked the Santa Monica High School Photo Club
to take Pico kids on a neighborhood photo shoot. We paired
three high school students with three middle school students
and set them off on a morning walk from Virginia Park.
Using black and white disposable cameras, the kids were
given complete freedom to look at their familiar streets
in a new way.

Vice chair, Peter Tigler met up with the group for lunch
at Abbott's Pizza."Our school club sponsorship fund
is aimed at exposing junior high kids to ways senior high
kids channel their talents, skills and interests. We figure
that the introduction of people and activity will give
the middle school kid a place to go when he or she gets
to high school (SAMO).The photo shoot idea was a way to
introduce SAMO's unique photo department. PNA funds paid
for the cameras, the lunch and we donated dollars to get
an enlarger fixed at the school's photo studio."
